<Abstract>

One of the drawbacks of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM) system is high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitter's output signal. In this background, low-complexity selected mapping(SLM) method is proposed for PAPR reduction with low computational cost. However, it requires high computational cost as candidate number of transmission signals increase, since many calculations of matrix are needed. In this paper, a low-complexity SLM scheme with subband division is proposed. In the proposed method, the subcarriers are divided into some groups, and the candidate transmission signals are created in each group. The proposed scheme has a similar performance of the PAPR reduction compared with the low-complexity SLM scheme though lower computational cost is achieved. The simulation results show the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed method.
