<Abstract>

One of the drawbacks of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM) system is high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitter?fs output signal. In this background, subband selected mapping(SLM) scheme was proposed for PAPR reduction. However, in the subband SLM scheme, calculation of IFFT can?ft degrade because continuous subcarriers are grouped. The subband scheme with degraded calculation of IFFT was proposed. But PAPR reduction degrades according to the increase of the number of subband division because the number of subcarriers in each group is different and the similar candidate signals tend to be created. This paper proposed a new subband division scheme in SLM for computation reduction. The proposed scheme outperforms the subband SLM scheme in terms of the PAPR reduction. The simulation results show the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
