High throughput method for wireless multi-hop networks using
directional antennas
The throughput of IEEE 802.11 based linear multi-hop networks is likely to decrease because of the hidden terminal problem. Although many MAC protocols using directional antennas have been proposed in order to solve this problem, directional antennas yield a new type of hidden terminal problem. This report proposes a novel method which solves these problems. The method uses multiple directional antennas and transmission control signals issued by senders. The comparison between analytical and simulation results proves the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
