Evaluation of signal capture effect in unidirectional string networks
It is important that obtain the analytical expression of the maximum-throughput in IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordination Function(DCF) multi-hop networks. In the previous work, the analysis of the maximum throughput in an one-way string multi-hop networks with the signal capture effect was studied. However, the signal capture effect usually cannot be observed in hardware operations. In addition, the analysis of the maximum throughput in an one-way string multi-hop networks was carried out when the frame length is short. These analytical result show a good agreement with the simulation and experiment results. The maximum throughput in the one-way string multi-hop networks is, however, not conducted when the frame length is long. In this paper, we derive the analytical expressions of the maximum throughput for an one-way flow in wireless string multi-hop networks when the frame length is long. Additionally, it is denoted that the node transmits frames with more than three-hop intervals when the frame length is long. The validity of the analytical expressions is confirmed by the comparison with the simulation results. |
