Token generation rate based receiving opportunity control for QoS guarantee considering priority flows in wireless multi-hop network
With the rapid penetration of wireless LANs for various services, QoS control for multimedia communication has been increasingly important. Wireless multi-hop networks (WMNs) have also been gathering attention because of wide coverage without the fixed infrastructure. A number of QoS control schemes have been proposed, and IEEE 802.11e was standardized. However, in multi-hop networks, QoS control studies are few, and IEEE 802.11e has not yet been sufficiently evaluated. In this paper, we propose a novel rate-based QoS control scheme in MAC layer, which guarantees the throughput of high-priority flow in multi-hop networks. In the proposed scheme, Receiving Opportunity Control scheme, which was proposed by the authors, is applied with combination of Token Bucket Filter mechanism. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. |
