<Abstract>

This paper presents analytical derivation of power conversion efficiency for the class-E amplifier with any Q. For obtaining the analytical expression of power conversion efficiency with any Q, the exact waveform equations of currents and voltages with the initial values for the steady state are derived. The power conversion efficiency contour with any Q can be obtained by using the analytical expression of the power conversion efficiency. By comparing the power conversion efficiency contours with switching-pattern distributions, the effects of the switching patterns on the power conversion efficiency are revealed. By carrying out circuit experiments, we can confirm the validity of the contour maps.
