Investigation and analysis of network dynamics in wireless multi-hop networks
Wireless ad-hoc networks are regarded as autonomous distribution networks. IEEE 802.11 DCF is usually applied to MAC protocol of ad-hoc networks, which is, however, designed for single-hop networks. Therefore, it is important to investigate MAC-layer behaviors of individual network nodes and their coupling effects for comprehending network dynamics. This manuscript presents throughput and frame-transmission delay analyses for sting-topology wireless multi-hop networks, which have already been proposed by authors. In addition, unpredicted network-dynamics examples, which is found out through the analyses, are also shown. Future research problems are discussed in conclusion. |
