Output power capability comparisons of class E power amplifiers
with harmonic resonance
This paper presents the class-E/F3 rectifier. In the proposed rectifier, a harmonic-component resonant circuit is added to the class-E amplifier. Because of additional current including harmonic components, it is possible to reduce the peak diode voltage compared with the class-E amplifier. In addition, the switch-voltage waveform satisfies the class-E ZVS/ZDS conditions. Therefore, high power-conversion efficiency at high-frequency operation can be achieved in the proposed rectifier. Analytical expressions and design procedure of the proposed rectifier are shown. The analytical waveforms agreed with the PSpice simulated ones quantitatively, which showed the validity of the analytical expressions and the design procedure. In the designed rectifier in this paper, the peak diode voltage of the proposed rectifier can be reduced 22% of that of the class-E rectifier. |
