<Abstract>

With the increasing data volume requirement in recent years, high-speed communication networks, including 10 Gbps, will be widely deployed. In such a high-bandwidth environment, Transport Control Protocol (TCP) is often used in most applications for reliable transmissions. In TCP transmissions, the behavior of the congestion control algorithm (CCA) mainly determines the communication performance of TCP. However, CCA is originally not designed for the high-bandwidth environment. Therefore, it is important to investigate the performance of the congestion control algorithm in such an environment, for example, finding the most suitable one. This research evaluates six TCP congestion control algorithms in an actual 10 Gbps network concerning throughput and fairness metrics.
