<Abstract>

In recent years, the rapid increase in data volume has led to the need for communication networks to support higher transmission speeds. Accordingly, there has been increasing interest in high-speed networksf operation and performance. In this study, we measured and analyzed the performance of the TCP congestion control algorithm (CCA) in an actual 10 Gbps Ethernet, which will be adopted in many environments. Unlike other studies, we extensively investigated 14 CCAs available in a stateof-the-art Linux kernel. Moreover, we focus on examining fairness in the presence of multiple TCP flows, typical in such a 10 Gbps network. The fairness evaluation is essential for understanding the fairness achieved by different CCAs, hence suggesting a suitable CCA for the 10 Gbps network. The evaluation results show that the CDG CCA is superior in terms of fairness achievement.
