<Abstract>

In this paper, we propose a load-independent (LI) constant-current (CC) output series-resonant inverter. The pro- posed inverter achieves CC output and soft switching regardless of the load resistance. We analytically derive a conditions for achieving the LI operation in the proposed inverter. The the experimental verifications showed the validity of the analysis and effectiveness of the proposed inverter. The proposed inverter achieved high power output capability and low total harmonic distortion (THD) output compared with the Liu class-EF inverter. The implemented prototype achieved 93.7% efficiency at 1 MHz frequency with 76.5 W output power in the rated condition.
