<Abstract>

In speech enhancement, a speech/noise-dominant decision is important in reducing noise for increasing intelligibility. In this paper, a speech enhancement using a speech/noise-dominant decision independent of SNR is proposed. In this proposed method, the speech/noise-dominant threshold that changes according to the amount of noise is considered. Therefore, the proposed method yields on accurate speech/noise- dominant decision. From the investigation of performance evaluation, the proposed speech enhancement method reduces speech distortion while improving segmental SNR improvement.
