<Abstract>

In this paper, we propose a new impulse noise detector using Absolute Deviation and spatial relations between color components for color images. In our method, the impulse noise can be detected by the multiplication of Absolute Deviation and difference among the sizes of spatially connected regions in all component. The proposed method reduces misdetected noise pixels in smooth regions with less correlation and edge regions. Extensive simulations indicate that the proposed method performs significantly better than conventional methods.
