<Abstract>

In this paper, high efficiency resonant rectifier for contactless IC card reader/writer is proposed. In the contactless power transfer system, existing IC card reader/writer uses bridge diode to rectify received RF power. However, lead inductance and junction capacitance in diodes of rectifier cause switching loss. This paper proposes resonant class E rectifier which reduces power loss in RF rectifier. In this rectifier, diode turns off when diode current is zero and turns on when diode voltage is zero. Hence, switching loss due to lead inductance and junction capacitance can be avoided. In this paper, operation of proposed rectifier is demonstrated by PSpice simulation.
