This paper presents a design of the class-E inverter with an inductive impedance inverter for achieving zero voltage switching (ZVS) at any load resistance. There is a region of load-resistance values that the class-E inverter can not achieve ZVS. For achieving ZVS at any load resistance, the class-E inverter with an inductive impedance inverter was proposed. However, there is a region of load-resistance values that the inverter designed by using previous design method can not achieve ZVS. In this paper, a design of the inverter for achieving ZVS at any load resistance is presented by applying the analytical expressions of the class-E inverter outside nominal operation, which can express the inverter operations against wide parameter variations. By carrying out PSpice simulations and circuit experiments, the validity of the design can be shown.
