<Abstract>

In this paper, on the basis of feature analysis of the research object, an adaptive wavelet packet tree is designed. Then, based on the designed wavelet packet tree, we propose a new adaptive digital filtering technique for Xray computed radiography (CR) images in low-exposure conditions. With implementation of this new technique in X-ray CR images, it is shown to be successful for removing quantum noise and simultaneously preserving necessary information of the original CR image. visual evaluations demonstrate the efficiency of this technique.
