Comprehensive and Simplified Numerical Design Procedure for Class-E Switching@Circuits
<Abstract> This paper proposes a novel numerical design method for the class-E switching circuit. Taking advantage of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, the proposed design method does not need to calculate the Jacobian matrix compared with the previous equation-solving-based design methods such as the Newton-Raphson Method. Additionally, the proposed design method does not rely on the initial value. Moreover, there is no restriction on design parameters. Therefore, parameter curves of different operation modes, such as the class-E amplifier and the frequency multipliers, can be derived at one time. Furthermore, by modifying the evaluation function, circuit design for class-E nominal condition and optimum condition can be realized. Circuit experiments were conducted in this research, which proved the validity and effectiveness of the proposed design method. |
