<Abstract>

This paper presents a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol for broadcasting in wireless networks of Ad hoc nodes with heterogeneous power capabilities. In the proposed protocol, dual busy tones are assigned to the nodes with high power and those with low power. The proposed protocol resolves hidden nodes problem and the redundant retransmissions. The simulation results show the proposed protocol improves the performance in terms of the throughput and the success rate of the reception of the data packet compared with the conventional protocols.
